Youth Steering Committee

My name is Levi Tolentino. I am in grade 12 and attend Hugh McRoberts Secondary. I have been a member of RDYO for six years and currently play trombone for the Senior Winds Division. If I am not found practicing an instrument, I will most likely be biking, skiing, or catching up on sleep. As part of the Youth Steering Committee, I want to bring social skills to help bond orchestra members and create an inclusive family which in turn will allow our community to become well-knit. I would also like to help newer members of the orchestra by supporting and giving them the confidence that they need to shine. I hope that this will start a chain reaction, allowing younger musicians to find their joy and passion in music.

Hi! My name is Natalia Xia, and I am a grade 12 student at Pacific Academy. I play the flute in the Symphony division and this is my sixth year at RDYO. Besides playing the flute, I enjoy reading, snowboarding, and playing the piano. As a member of the Youth Steering Committee, I hope to share my passion for music with other young musicians and help grow and strengthen our community.

I'm currently in grade 10 and I play the clarinet in the Senior Winds division. Some other things I like to do other than music include reading, maths, and catching up on sleep. I hope as a member of the YSC, I hope to help enable community building within the youth orchestra, which in turn builds stronger community and teamwork. Lastly, I hope this season is fun and enjoyable for everyone!

Hi! My name is Tim, and I'm 17 years old. I play the clarinet in the Symphony division. Outside of music, I enjoy photography and have a passion for graphic design. As a member of the Youth Steering Committee, I hope my contributions help raise awareness about RDYO, encourage more people to join, and inspire others to pursue their passion for music.

My name is Lucas Chu and I'm in grade 11. This year will be my first time playing violin in Symphony and I am ecstatic to serve as a committee member. Outside of the orchestra, I like playing badminton and video games. I hope that this year will be one of our best seasons yet!

My name is Nina Kotsalis and I am a grade 11 student at Southpointe Academy. I am a clarinet player in the Senior Winds division starting my 4th year with RDYO and I am excited to begin my first year on the Youth Steering Committee! Beyond music, I enjoy creating art, competing in science competitions, and working with my local youth. I can't wait to support the growing community and help create an incredible upcoming season!

Hello! My name is Ivan Chung and I am a clarient player in the Symphony Orchestra Division. I am a Grade 12 student studying in Seaquam Secondary School and this is my fifth year in RDYO. Besides playing clarinet, I like to play drums, badminton, listen classical and jazz music. As a new Youth Steering Committee, I would like to encourage my music expriences to Junior and Senior Winds members, in order to let them have a smoother transition from Wind Ensemble to Symphony Orchestra.

My name is Alpha Wong and I’m a Grade 12 student at Richmond Secondary. I play the violin in the Symphony division, and this is my seventh year at RDYO. Outside of music, I enjoy playing golf and running. As a member of the Youth Steering Committee, I want to improve our outreach and impact to both our external and internal communities.
