William Broverman
Conductor, Junior Winds
William Broverman is an in demand freelance musician and educator based in Metro Vancouver. Born in Langley, he began his post secondary studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University before transferring to McGill University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in bass trombone performance.
From 2016 to 2020, Will served as Bass Trombone/Co Principal of the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra in Mexico. Notable orchestral performances include the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Opera Orchestra, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada.
Will’s work extends beyond the orchestral repertoire. He performs regularly with several of Vancouver’s jazz ensembles, including the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra, Vancouver Legacy Jazz Orchestra, West Coast Big Band, Jill Townsend Jazz Orchestra, and Michael Kim Big Band, among others. He is also active in the Latin and rock scenes and has performed with pop artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Il Divo, Steven Page, and Terra Lightfoot, to name a few.
