Claire Chong

Claire grew up in Vancouver and holds a B.A., B.Ed., and M.Ed. in Music Education, all from the University of British Columbia. She absolutely loves her job as an elementary school music teacher, as she gets to make music with her students all day, every day! Claire believes that music education is an essential part of every child’s education. 

Claire strives to instill a love of music in her own two children. Her older son played trumpet, percussion, and guitar in school, and her younger son plays flute in school and in RDYO. She also taught both of them to play the piano.

Claire had the pleasure of serving as the Junior Winds division manager for 2 years before joining the board in September 2025. She hopes that her passion for music and her experience in music education will help make a positive difference in RDYO.
