William Broverman

Conductor, Junior Winds

William is an in-demand freelance musician and educator in Metro Vancouver. William has be recognized as a young leader in Canada’s classical music scene and was named in the 2021 edition of the CBC’s “30 Hot Classical Musicians Under 30” and incidentally was the first bass trombonist to ever appear on the list.

Born in Langley, Will began his post-secondary studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University before transferring to McGill where he completed a bachelor’s degree in bass trombone performance.

In 2016, Will packed up and moved to Mexico following a successful audition for the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra. In this time, he performed alongside the world’s finest brass musicians as a faculty member of the Merida International Brass Festival, was invited as a guest professor to the Conservatorio Plurinacional in Bolivia, and became a fluent Spanish speaker.

Since his return to Vancouver in 2020, Will has greatly enjoyed integrating into the music scene here at home. He performs regularly with the finest professional ensembles in Vancouver and maintains a busy schedule working with students privately and as a clinician in schools across the region.
